To guide young people to establish correct career views and values, the Wuhan Staff Large Ideological and Political Course activity was successfully held in Room 108 of Wenhui Building on Shouyi Campus of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law on the afternoon of 27th November 2025. Co-hosted by Wuhan Federation of Trade Unions, Changjiang Daily and ZUEL, the activity featured model worker sharing, intangible cultural heritage performances and interactive exchanges, presenting a spiritual feast that nourishes the soul and inspires growth for teachers and students, allowing the spirit of craftsmanship to take root in young students’ hearts.

At the beginning of the activity, He Peng, Deputy Director of the Propaganda and Education Department of Wuhan Federation of Trade Unions, and Xiong Wei, Vice Dean of the School of Business Administration of ZUEL, delivered speeches successively. He Peng pointed out that model workers and craftsmen are benchmarks of the times and valuable spiritual wealth inspiring young people to grow. Wuhan Federation of Trade Unions has always strived to build a communication bridge between model workers, craftsmen and young students. Xiong Wei thanked Wuhan Federation of Trade Unions and Changjiang Daily for their strong support, emphasizing that the university adheres to moral education and attaches great importance to labor education, encouraging students to integrate the spirit of labor into professional learning and career planning.


In the model worker deeds sharing session, the host led teachers and students to get to know Yao Jie, National Model Worker and Central Station Master of Hankou Railway Station on Wuhan Metro Line 2, known as the “Top Station Master”, through short videos. On site, Yao Jie interpreted the spirit of craftsmanship in the service industry with the belief of “small post, big blueprint” based on her work experience.

Subsequently, intangible cultural heritage inheritor Luo Aiguo brought the Hubei Drum performance Harvest Field. The cheerful rhythm and simple lyrics combined traditional intangible cultural heritage art with the labor theme, winning warm applause.

A short video then introduced Xu Fan, Jingchu Craftsman, Chief Technician of China Metallurgical Geology Bureau Wuhan Survey and Exploration Institute Co., Ltd. and National Technical Expert. On site, Xu Fan shared his experiences in technical research and career growth, encouraging students to pursue excellence in professional fields.

In the interactive exchange session, student representatives Yang Siqi and Zhao Zitong discussed warmly with Yao Jie and Xu Fan. Students actively asked questions, and the model workers answered with simple language and vivid cases, providing practical guidance.

At the end of the activity, Shi Liqing, Young Key Journalist of Changjiang Daily, made a closing speech. She hoped that students would turn their insights into motivation, take model workers and craftsmen as examples, and work hard in a down-to-earth manner.

This activity built a face-to-face communication platform for teachers, students, model workers and craftsmen. It aimed to guide students to establish correct labor views and values, cultivate craftsmanship literacy, helping them grow into new-era young people with both professional capabilities and humanistic feelings.
